- 1 pack Polk's Ham Steaks
- 1 1/2 cups elbow macaroni pasta
- 2 cups milk
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 onion (chopped)
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoons garlic (chopped)
- 1/4 cup butter; 2 tablespoons butter (melted)
- 1/2 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/8 teaspoon red pepper
- 1 cup bread crumbs
Boil macaroni until soft and drain. Cut the Polk's Ham Steaks into smaller pieces and place in a bowl. Heat oven to 350°F. Spray glass baking dish with cooking spray. Melt the 1/4 cup butter into a saucepan and add the garlic. Stir until golden color. Reduce heat to medium. Stir in flour, salt and red pepper. Continue to stir. Gradually add milk until mixture thickens. Add ham, chopped onions and cooked macaroni. Remove from stove and stir in cheese until melted. In small bowl, mix bread crumbs, 2 tablespoons of melted butter and 1/2 tablespoon olive oil. Spread breadcrumbs over finished dish. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes or until brown on top. Serve and enjoy!
